I FN HATE PROJECT RUNWAY

24 Jul

Wesley. I can’t believe he got kicked off of Project Runway–so soon. I had Wesley winning it all in an office pool. Yes, Wesley’s overworked eco-friendly work wasn’t stellar. But Natalie Portman digged the bow. And I didn’t hear a single compliment on Leanne’s mess of a dress. The hair pieces alone should have been enough to kick her off. And what’s up with the judges liking Stella’s gymnastic whore outfit. Wesley’s outfit was not the worse. Honestly, I think he got kicked off because he was too quiet and well, that doesn’t make for good television. I am officially banning Project Runway.

Kevin Tenglin Rocks My World

“Be polite and do your best without getting an ulcer. Watch porn and be happy. And hang out as often as you can. Don’t worry, there’s a Friday every single week.”

-Kevin Tenglin

Kevin Tenglin said this to me 8 years ago at Brandcenter, formerly known as Adcenter.

Kevin Tenglin recently had his name featured in an iPhone spot. And now people think he’s a celebrity. Read this blog. Too funny.

Jerry Tam Gets The Boot From Project Runway

17 Jul

The first contestant sent home from Project Runway this season is Jerry Tam. Jerry Tam has his own line out called Form, so I thought he would be good. But it turns out, Jerry Tam totally sucked at Project Runway’s first challenge. And it was well deserved. C’mon. Yellow dish gloves? White boots? A raincoat out of a shower curtain? And shower hooks for hooks? Seriously, there was nothing interesting about Jerry Tam’s first and only Project Runway look.

Feist + Sesame Street = Pure Love

AdTech. Yes, yet another Adserving company you have to know about

16 Jul

AdTech. It’s new–at least in the America. It’s a German company that’s popular throughout Europe and it’s got Gannett (and its corporate parent, AOL)as its first big client. So you better pay attention. AOL currently uses AdTech to serve half of their ads and it’s only a matter of time before the rest gets served.

Now that AOL’s not so dependent on Google, what will that mean? With all these ad serving marriages like the Google-Doubleclick, Microsoft-aQuantive, and WPP-24/7 Real Media ad serving marriage, Gannett-AdTech will definitely be one to watch out for.

I am rich as hell

I have always been fond of this quote.

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power. If you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.”

On another note, because of the National Toxicology Program’s recent findings on the effects of BPA on lab animals where they proclaimed there is “some concern,” big changes are happening.

For starters, the largest retailer in the world, Wal-mart has pledged to sell only BPA-free bottles by early next year. Woohoo! And Babies “R” Us has pledged to rid its shelves of all BPA or Bisphenol A bottles by the end of the year. Hooray! Whole Foods is also pledging.
