I am not a huge K Pop fan, but this song by Lee Michelle is amazing. I love that she did a song about the prejudices she faced in Korea growing up. Being mixed myself, it was really moving. Especially the scene where the little girl cries. It gets me every time.
Everything about this PSY “Gangnam Style” music video is incredibly awesome. The catchy beat, the cool aging singer, the bright clothes, the girls with their super dyed hair, the kid with the I’m-dancing-my-ass-off face, the synchronized horse dance moves, all the perfectly Korean scenes. Well done.
Highway run into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
You’re on my mind
Restless hearts sleep alone tonight
Sending all my love along the wire
They say that the road
ain’t no place to start a family
Right down the line it’s been you and me
And loving a music man
ain’t always what it’s supposed to be
Girl
you stand by me
I’m forever yours
faithfully
Circus life under the big top world
We all need the clowns to make us laugh
Through space and time
Always another show
Wodering where I am lost without you
And being a part ain’t easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy of rediscovering you
Oh girl
you stand by me
I’m forever yours
faithfully
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
oh oh oh oh oh oh
faithfully
I’m still yours
I’m forever yours
Ever yours
faithfully
For real. This DJ is seriously awesome. He reminds me of my mom. She’s 65-years-old, but acts like she’s sixteen. She swims, travels the world and dances to anything–even old school hip hop. She has always told me to not worry about what other people think. Because the moment you stop giving a shit, you’re free. And that’s when you reach the ultimate state of happiness. Other people’s opinions make you a prisoner. Let go and dance already.
And check out this 69-year-old DJ named Ruth Flowers. Amazing!
How much did Kanye spend on this 34:32 personal movie project? Best scene by far was the ballet part IMO. Lyrics felt honest. Other scenes were, well, I’ll let you be the judge.
I swear my husband is all about some Lin Yu Chun. While his voice makes me miss Miss Crackhead Houston, I love, love, love his bowl cut even more. And I love that he’s bringing it back in style. Because let’s face it, not many people can pull this look off.
I don’t even get why these Korean shows are popular. Every time I go to my in-laws, they’re always watching shows like this. And every time, it makes me cringe. Am I alone here? Please tell me I’m not.
I just heard “Little Lion Man” by Mumford and Sons the other day on my Sirius. I had never heard of this British band before. I really love the electric banjo and the overall lyrics and sound. Check it out.
For most Americans, health care reform is confusing as hell. Maybe watching President Obama and Alexa Chung sing and dance about this important issue will help you make sense of it.
