Also, Google has hired Larry Brilliant, an online pioneer and philanthropist. Brilliant will run a charitable foundation for Google that demonstrates their commitment to making the world a better place. Google has pledged 3 million company shares, which is the equivalent of $1.1 billion. Brilliant is best known for co-founding the Well, an online community started in the mid-1980’s.
